WHAT IS INCLUDED
General Marine Hull Insurance Training
Our technical training in general hull insurance covers important subjects like ship building, vessel operations, risks that are inherent with certain types of vessel, coverage for hull and machinery, disbursements, war risks, loss of hire, and general average, as well as studying the clauses, collision liability, options for salvage, claims and claims procedures, the role of the average adjuster and surveyor, and more. It’s suitable for underwriters, surveyors, claims personnel, insurance agents, and similar roles in the marine insurance business.
Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Insurance Training
Our technical training in Protection and Indemnity (P&I) insurance covers important subjects like injury and illness of crew members, loss of life, wreck removal, pollution, the history of the International Group of P&I Clubs, and how they operate and how a shipowner enters a P&I Club. This is usually conducted at the same time as the Hull training, and is suitable for beginner and intermediate underwriters, claims personnel, insurance agents, and similar roles in the marine insurance business.
Loss Prevention Training
Crew negligence is the common cause of losses. Hence, our loss prevention training helps to reduce this in your own crew.
When crew members come ashore, we hold training programmes for them that focus on reducing losses. This training is designed for crew members at all levels, from the Captain down to the deckhand.
